Maintaining a healthy diet and getting enough exercise are good intentions for this new year. Losing weight is at the top of many new year resolutions list. What can be done to make sure the above intentions have a last impact throughout the year?

1.Do it everyday!
We all know that exercise is a crucial for weight lost. But sometimes it's easier said than done. All you need is 30-60 mins of aerobic activity daily. You can just dance for your favorite songs or use an aerobic exercise machine like a stationary bike or treadmill. Remember that the exercise doesn't have to be all at once. You can break it into 10-15 mins session throughout the day.

2. Record your calories
How to identify the extra calories that sneak in? By spending an extra time to write down everything you eat and drink. There are also lots of good online tools that help to estimate the calories content of foods.

3. Set achievable goal
The biggest mistake that everyone do when they set a goal is that to lose too many pounds too fast or setting unrealistic goals. For long term success, start with one or two pounds a week.

4.Set specific goals
Instead of "lose wight" which is too general, specifically write everything you can do to lose weight such as eating five servings of vegetables per day, taking a 15 minutes walk after lunch or drinking 6 classes of water per day.

5. Don't let anyone to discourage you
Don't throw your entire routine out the window after one bad day. Instead try to resolve the barriers and how to avoid in future.Such as to avoid eating too much of rice, drink one glass of water before starting your meal.

6. Instill yoga
Regular yoga practise is associated with mindful eating and people who eat mindfully are less likely to be obese. This lead to less weight gain. Mindful eating are approaches such as dieting, counting calories and limiting portion sizes. Adding yoga practise to standard weight loss programme may make it more effective
