What's the point of meeting, when you've already know the outcome of it. Why not make it a fruitful session for yourself?
Problem: All-talk-no-action meeting
Solve: Take the lead and initiate some effort after the meeting. Organise mini discussion around the cubicles over snacks and get everyone involve to discuss on the project assigned to the department. This meeting will be lot more productive and focused.
Problem: You're bored to death
Solve: Overcome the boredom by taking notes and thinking forward so you can forecast challenges and opportunities.
Problem: You have no opinion on the matter
Solve: Instead of just going to the meeting, do some reasearch on the topic to be discussed to bring up some several approaches to problem faced and get feedback from the group to solve them
Problem: Cranky and cold crowd
Solve: No one likes it when the boss calls for last minute meeting. instead of joining the negative crowd, make relevant anecdotes to live up the meeting. Positivity is good and happy people work efficiently. Meeting ends earlier!
